This year sees a new initiative in Gosforth with the launch of around 70 illuminated Christmas trees being placed along many of the first floor exteriors of buildings on the High Street.
The Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 5.30pm on Friday, 29th November, outside the New Homes Hub of Sanderson Young Estate Agents, on the corner of Hawthorn Road, where the children of St. Oswald’s Hospice will be kicking off the festivities.
The event hopes to get us all in the Christmas spirit with Newcastle School for Boys Choir singing Christmas Carols and Babucho, soon to open on the High Street, serving mulled wine and mince pies.
The trees have been subsidised and sponsored by L.G.A. Foundation, Reeves Independent Financial Advisers, Sweeney Miller, as well as Sanderson Young Estate Agents.
It is very much hoped that this will be the first year of many when the High Street is transformed during the festive period!
